The Lounge Chair has a long history as it is a person’s natural tendency to relax and lounge in a comfortable place like the modern living room. Lounging connotes a feeling of warmth, peace and relaxation. One of the most famous of the lounge chairs was the Eames Lounge Chair Wood of 1946 which molded plywood to a person’s body shape. Other modern style furniture designs followed in mid-century with designers who became famous for the resilience of their designs and the timeless look of the unique furniture they produced.
Egg Chairs, Hanging Ball Chairs, Pod Chairs, Hanging Egg Chairs and other types of lounge chairs were introduced in the mid 1950s which changed the looks of lounges and living areas, providing modern home furniture in bright and vibrant colors.
